Youth caught with spy camera fitted in spectacles inside Puri Srimandir
A youth was caught with a hidden camera device while attempting to record visuals inside the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. The incident has raised serious concerns about the security and sanctity of the shrine.
According to sources, the youth had fixed a hidden camera lens onto his spectacles and entered the temple premises. The camera was reportedly designed to transmit photos and videos directly to his mobile phone in real time.
Security personnel deployed near the Beherana Dwara grew suspicious of his behavior and intercepted him. Upon checking, they discovered the hidden device attached to his glasses.
The youth was immediately detained and handed over to Singhadwara police station by the Shree Jagannath Temple’s armed security force. He has been identified as a resident of Abhisit Kar area in Gajapati Nagar, Puri.
It is still unclear whether he managed to capture or transmit any photos or videos from inside the temple. Further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the act and whether more people are involved.
The incident has sparked concern over the misuse of modern spy gadgets in high-security religious sites, where photography and videography are strictly prohibited.
