This move is part of a larger housing initiative under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana.

The Minister said that the State government has already included more than 1 lakh beneficiaries under the scheme. The formal work orders for these houses will be distributed as part of the birthday celebration for the Prime Minister.

In a related update, work orders under the PM Awas Yojana will be issued in November. According to official data, nearly 35 lakh people applied during the recent new PM Awas Survey conducted in Odisha. The government is expected to complete all verification and eligibility processes before starting the final order distribution by November.

Starting in November this year, the Odisha government will roll out the distribution of work orders for houses under the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), the Rural Development Minister had previously said on August 18.

Minister Naik had clarified that while the process will officially begin in November, houses will continue to be allotted in successive phases to ensure wide and inclusive coverage.

This move is part of the Odisha government’s broader commitment to providing dignified housing to all eligible rural families and improving their living conditions through Central and State collaboration.

This initiative aims to benefit 50,000 individuals, including those who are differently-abled, widows, and people suffering from various ailments. In addition to these groups, families of martyrs and recipients of the Padma Shri award will also benefit from this scheme.

“Coming September 17 is the birthday of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On this occasion, we will distribute around 50,000 work orders under Antyodaya Gruha Yojana. An ongoing process will continue till the beginning of November. However, from November onwards, the PM awas yojana (PMAY-G) houses will be awarded,” the Minister said.
