In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly sold two sisters, who happen to be her nieces, on the pretext of job.
The incident was reported from Bisoi area in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj.
As per reports, the sister duo was allegedly taken to Rourkela from Bisoi on December 6 last year by a man named Bapi and woman identified as Debajani. They promised the girls jobs.
The sister duo was then taken to Rajasthan from Rourkela for ‘training’. However, after reaching Rajasthan, the actual situation dawned upon them and they realised that they were sold with a false promise of job.
Despite being detained in a lodge in Rajasthan, the sisters somehow managed to contact their father over phone. Their father immediately filed a complaint at Bisoi police station.
After the complaint, the police sprang in to action and tracked their mobile phones to Rajasthan and rescued one of the sisters from there.
Another sister was rescued from Madhya Pradesh.
The police have nabbed the ‘buyer’ and brought him to Odisha for questioning. He was presented at the court after medical examination.
