Woman killed, 7 injured in lightning strike incident in Odisha’s Puri

A woman died while seven others were injured in a lightning strike incident reported in Puri on Monday. Since early morning, the pilgrim town experienced thunderstorm and heavy rainfall activities.

Sources said that a 45-year woman died while seven others were injured when lightning struck them at Chaitana Bhoi sahi area in Puri. The deceased has been identified as Kunti Bhoi.

The incident occurred when they were working in an agricultural field.

Following the lightning strike incident, all the injured were rushed to the Puri district headquarters hospital and Kunti Bhoi died while undergoing treatment.
