Tension ran high at the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Friday following the death of a woman due to alleged medical negligence.

The family members of the deceased have alleged that she died of dengue due to neglect during treatment in the hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Chandrakala Mansingh who was a resident of Begunia area in Khordha district.

As per reports, the patient was admitted to the dengue ward after suffering from fever. However, she passed away while undergoing treatment.

Family members and relatives of the deceased alleged that her condition deteriorated on Thursday evening due to neglect by the doctor and a trainee nurse and eventually she passed away.

“My mother was in good condition while undergoing treatment at the hospital. However, her condition deteriorated due to negligence by a doctor and a trainee nurse. They didn’t care to treat her properly and as a result, my mother died due to the side effect of some kind of treatment,” alleged the deceased’s daughter Sukanti Pradhan.

However, no reaction from the hospital authorities could be obtained in this regard.
