Singh further said that stern action will be taken against those challenging the law and order and creating nuisance in the society.

“Police need to be strict and at the same time ensure that a person can approach him/her freely. An officer needs to bring a balance between these two aspects. We will identify the weak links and will continuously work on those. The Commissionerate Police will be open to suggestions and take appropriate steps for course correction,” the new Police Commissioner said.

The outgoing Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda served as Twin City Police Commissioner for a period of eight months.

“The period was crucial as general elections were held and we did a good job in ensuring incident-free polls. We have also registered success in returning around Rs 2 crore to the victims of cyber crimes. Similarly, the Commissionerate Police also was successful in cracking several crimes,” said Panda.
