The State education department doesn’t need to go to other States to probe into the fake certificate allegations, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Tuesday.

Dash’s remark came in the backdrop of a five-member team of the Crime Branch preparing to go to other States to further probe into Bolangir fake certificate racket.

“Investigation is going on in many departments. It has started well before in our department. We have also got cases registered and dismissed those who furnished fake certificates to get jobs. They were also arrested. However, our department doesn’t need to go out of the State to investigate into such allegations,” said Dash.

Notably, like the postal department, the education department once made headlines for scores of teachers submitting fake certificates to get jobs.

A teacher couple was recently in news for coming under the CB scanner for obtaining teacher jobs in government schools in Bolangir district by allegedly submitting fake certificates.

Soon after the incident came to the fore, the Education department swung into action mode. The department is reportedly preparing a list of all those teachers who have got jobs in different government schools in the last three years.
