Adding fuel to the speculations of a rift in the Biju Janata Dal, BJD Corporator Amaresh Jena recently said that there is a ‘Vibhishana’ inside who is trying to disintegrate the party.

Amaresh gave the explosive statement on Wednesday after his return from a party meeting which was held in the residence of senior BJD leader Pratap Deb.

“Some people are trying to create division among us. However, we have remained united and the President of the party has been informed about the development. There is certainly ‘Vibhishana’ in the party. They have been given the right kind of answer. Stern action will be taken against them in future,” said Amaresh.

After Amaresh’s explosive statement, speculation is rife about the leader to whom he is referring to as ‘Vibhishana’ in the Opposition party.

Earlier, Amaresh had alleged that some BJD corporators are in touch with the BJP to switch over to their side. He blamed BJD leaders Ashok Chandra Panda and Ananta Narayan Jena, who is also the Bhubaneswar Central MLA, for the fissure developing in the party.

As per Amaresh’s allegations, Panda and Jena are dividing the corporators and are also administering pledges from the party leaders.

“BJD leader Ashok Chandra Panda and the party’s Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayan Jena are inviting corporators to their houses and asking them to take a pledge to create disturbance in the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) so that their importance will increase. It will be detrimental to the party in the coming days. The situation has come to such a pass that the corporators are not on good terms with each other. I think the BJP will cash in on the present situation. I have also heard of some BJD corporators being in touch with the BJP to switch over to their side,” Amaresh said.

As per sources, after BJD lost power in Odisha, many leaders of have started revolting against the party openly.
