A 6-foot rat snake caused panic at Lok Seva Bhawan's Home Department office in Bhubaneswar, leading to a swift rescue by Snake Helpline's Subhendu Mallik.

Panic gripped the staff at the Home Department office in Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar when a 6-foot-long rat snake was spotted inside the premises. 

According to sources, the snake had slithered into the Accounts Section-1, startling employees who fled the room in fear upon noticing the huge reptile.

Officials immediately contacted the Snake Helpline for assistance. Responding swiftly, Subhendu Mallik, general secretary of Snake Helpline, reached the spot. 

After a careful search, the non-venomous snake was found hiding beneath a cupboard.

Mallik safely rescued the snake and later released it into its natural habitat, ensuring no harm to either the snake or the staff. 

Subsequently, normal office activities resumed at the Lok Seva Bhawan.
