The members of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) showed black flag to 5T Chairman and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader VK Pandian during his visit to Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district on Friday.

Pandian was shown black flag at Manikeswari Chhak when he was on his way to Krishnanagar to attend a public meeting after finishing a ‘Nua O’ programme in the morning at Bhawanipatna.

The BJP members led by Deepjyoti Mund protested his visit and raised slogans.

No BJD leaders were available for comments in this connection.

On Thursday, the student and youth wings of the Congress party opposed Pandian’s visit to Bolangir where he attended a ‘Nabin Odisha’ programme held at Gandhi Stadium.

The Congress party set out in a rally from Rajendra College Square with placards and banners in their hands. They were heading towards the Gandhi stadium when the police stopped them midway.

Earlier, Pandian was opposed in Puri and shown black flag by Congress members on December 29.

The Congress members showed black flag to him and raised ‘Pandian go back’ slogans in front of him opposing the demolition of heritage buildings in Puri in the name of Parikrama Project. They also blamed Pandian for allegedly insulting Jagannath culture by bringing Youtuber Kamiya Jani to the Srimandir.
