The Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha programme, which was held at Deogaon in Bolangir on Tuesday, witnessed high drama when some supporters of Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra created a ruckus, alleging that elected representatives were not invited to the programme.

The programme was organised in 14 blocks of the district.

The matter came to light on Wednesday as a purported video in which supporters of the Bolangir legislator arguing with some leaders at the programme went viral. The incident has reportedly warmed up the political atmosphere in Bolangir.

As per reports, in the purported video, some supporters of the Congress MLA, Congress-backed samiti members and sarpanches alleged that all elected representatives should have been invited to the Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha, which is a government programme. They lamented that Narasingha Mishra was ignored and not invited to the meeting.

Upset over this matter, a group of samiti members and sarpanches bandied words with the sub-collector and the BDO of Deogaon, asking the duo why the MLA and the MP were not invited to the meeting. At that time, BJD leader and Chairperson of the Odisha State Housing Board Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo was present.

Minutes later, those who were creating a commotion over the issue were seen leaving the place in a huff. They alleged that the government programme is being politicized along party lines with a deliberate snub to elected representatives.

However, the response of the block administration has not been received.
