A purported video of a government employee allegedly bribing people to attend the meeting of 5T Secretary VK Pandian in Jajpur district has gone viral.
In the viral video, a panchayat executive officer (PEO) was reportedly seen distributing cash among the crowd in an apparent bid to take them to the meeting venue of the 5T Secretary.
According to a source, the 5T secretary had visited Binjharpur area in Jajpur district on August 31. It is alleged that the video was shot during that time. Mansada panchayat executive officer had allegedly given away money to some people at Mallikapur under Dasarathpur block.
However, the PEO termed the allegations as baseless.
“It was a government programme. My friends were going to the programme. And I was paying for the fuel. Someone shot it and uploaded it on social media platforms,” clarified Gopal Mohanty, PEO of Mansada panchayat.
It has been alleged time and again that crores of money is being spent for a meeting of the 5T Secretary. It has also been alleged that people are lured to the meeting venues with money. The recent viral video has only given credence to the allegations.
