The controversy surrounding social media influencer Kamiya Jani is getting intense with each passing day. The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Monday demanded an investigation into the entry of Jani into Jagannath temple.

Addressing a press conference in Puri, the International President of Vishva Hindu Parishad, Rabindra Narain Singh said, “It is alleged that VK Pandian took Kamiya Jani into the Jagannath temple. It has now become a matter of discussion. It has hurt the sentiments of the Hindus. I don’t know what has been eaten or not. Nor do we have any investigation report.”

“On behalf of my organisation I want to draw the attention of the government to the issue and demand they should get it investigated and make the report public,” Singh added.

Following the statement of VHP’s International President, no response has been received from the state government or the SJTA.

On December 23, the Jagannath Sanskruti Suraksha Abhiyan demanded action against 5T chairman VK Pandian and Jani. The members of the Jagannath Sanskruti Suraksha Abhiyan staged a demonstration at the Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar.

“She (Jani) is advocating the consumption of beef. The way she was roped in to advertise Mahaprasad and allowed into Srimandir is not going down well with the Lord Jagannath devotees,” secretary of the abhiyan, Tanmay Dash had said.
