The 4th edition of Utkarsh Odisha: Make in Odisha Conclave will be held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar on January 28-29, 2025.

Financial experts are quite optimistic about securing significant investment pledges from prominent business leaders from across the world, as conditions appear favourable. The investment summit will likely attract a wide array of Indian and international investors.

Odisha's Industries Minister has stated that, unlike previous governments which focused on metal-based industries, the State government is prioritising sectors that would generate employment such as textiles, renewable energy, green hydrogen, and shipbuilding.

To stir the interest of prospective investors, roadshows were earlier organised in Delhi, Mumbai, and Singapore. The State government has accorded projects worth around Rs 2.4 lakh crore in the last six months.

Prominent business figures such as Sajjan Jindal of JSW, Naveen Jindal of JSPL, Anil Agarwal of Vedanta, and Kumar Mangalam Birla of the Birla Group, along with giants like Tata and Reliance, have been invited to participate.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is actively overseeing preparations to ensure the event's success and convert investment promises into reality.

While Odisha is endowed with mineral wealth, it has previously encountered issues with timely land allocation and bureaucratic hurdles. However, since the advent of the 'double-engine' government, there has been a noticeable increase in the interest in state-level investments.

Many attendees of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas conclave expressed keen interest in exploring investment avenues in the State.

Experts believe that the Utkarsh Odisha conclave could serve as a crucial platform to engage with the Indian diaspora for the State's development.

“Unlike the previous government, we are focusing more on employment-based industries. Hence, we are giving priority to industries like textiles, renewable energy, green hydrogen, and shipbuilding,” Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain said.
