OTV introduces in-house creche for children of women employees
In a commendable and thoughtful move, Odisha Television Network (OTV) has introduced an in-house childcare centre (creche) for the children of its women employees.
This initiative is aimed at supporting working mothers by easing their childcare responsibilities, allowing them to focus on their careers without compromising their children's well-being.
Often, new mothers are forced to quit their jobs due to the lack of proper childcare support. Addressing this concern, the idea of setting up a creche was conceived by OTV's Business Head – News, Litisha Panda. Acting on her vision and guidance, OTV has now made this facility a reality.
With this new step, working mothers at OTV no longer need to worry about their little ones while on the job. The creche provides a safe and nurturing environment for infants, ensuring peace of mind for the mothers and continuity in their professional journey. This initiative sets an example for other organizations to follow in promoting a more inclusive and supportive workplace for women.
"A unique initiative has been launched for working women in OTV. A creche has been set up inside the OTV office. New mothers are often forced to quit their jobs due to the lack of proper childcare support. To support the working women of OTV, this creche has been set up. As a result, the women employees of OTV can work by keeping their children at the creche," said OTV Group PRO Babita Swain.

"If a creche is inside, we can give our 100 per cent to the office. It gives us a lot of satisfaction and relief. It's a great initiative introduced by OTV. It will empower all the working women. They will no longer be tense about leaving their jobs," said OTV news anchor Snigdha.
"It will be a great relief for a mother. Along with work, she will be able to take care of her children. She will have the mental peace and she will be able to work freely in the office," said OTV news anchor Puja Muduli.
