Two youths drown in Kuakhai River near Bhubaneswar, 2 missing

Two youths drowned and two others went missing while taking a bath in the Kuakhai River on Tuesday evening. The mishap occurred near Dhabalahara under Balianta Police limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.

As per reports, eight friends from a private management college in Bhubaneswar had gone to Dhabalahara to take a bath when four of them drowned in the river.

Following the mishap, the locals rushed to the spot and fished out two bodies from the river. The firefighters were called in and they began a rescue operation. According to sources, the search is on to locate two other missing youths.

"After hearing the news, we dived into the river to find two bodies in just fifteen minutes. But it was too late, apparently. Two others are still missing," said a local.

The IIC of Balianta Police Station, Jubaraj Swain said, "They were studying in a private college near Bhubaneswar. They had come here around 2pm to take bath. We received information about the mishap at around 5pm. The police team and firefighters'team is searching for the missing students."
