In Kalahandi, two Odisha youths unknowingly biked 22 km with a poisonous spectacled cobra. The snake was found on their fuel tank en route from Ghatapada to Pustikudi.

Snake Being Rescued Safely

Kalahandi witnessed a startling and nerve-wracking incident when two youths unknowingly travelled 22 kilometers on a motorcycle with a venomous snake hidden on their two-wheeler. The incident, which took place between Ghatapada and Pustikudi in Kesinga block, has left the locals both shocked and intrigued.

According to sources, the two young men had set out on a journey to distribute wedding invitation cards. They started from Ghatapada and were riding towards Pustikudi when the unimaginable happened.

Nerve-Wrecking Ride:

While travelling at a normal speed, the pillion rider suddenly noticed the snake perched on the fuel tank, its hood raised in an aggressive stance. The shocking sight left the riders in utter panic, as they realized they had been unknowingly sharing their bike with a three-foot-long spectacled cobra.

Despite the initial fear, the rider managed to stay calm and slowly pulled over to a safe spot. Gathering courage, they cautiously moved away from the bike and immediately contacted a snake rescuer for help. The snake handler arrived promptly and carefully extracted the snake from the bike’s frame after much effort.

Luckily, the snake did not bite any of them during the ride. The incident has sparked curiosity and discussions among residents, with many wondering how the snake had managed to stay unnoticed for such a long distance. Experts believe the reptile might have slithered onto the bike while it was parked and found shelter near the warm engine.

Thankfully, due to the composure and quick thinking of the youths, a major mishap was averted. The rescued snake was later released safely into its natural habitat. The extraordinary experience of these two young men serves as a reminder to always be cautious, even during the most routine journeys!
