Two Odisha youths beaten to death on suspicion of theft, one critical

In a shocking incident, a mob brutally attacked three youths suspecting them to be thieves. One of them died on the spot and another critically injured succumbed at the hospital. The third youth is reportedly critical following the attack. The incident was reported from Sahutikra under Sadar police station of Bargarh district on Tuesday.

The youth who died at the spot has been identified as Bijay Bag of Pandiripathar under the same police limits area.

As per reports, four youths were passing through Sahutikra village. Some residents suspected the four to be thieves and detained them. At that time, one of them managed to escape while the villagers mercilessly beat up the other three. 
One of the youths died on the spot while two others were critically injured, police said.

Police rescued the injured, identified as Biku Jal of Sambalpur and Surat Karmi of Pandiripathar, and rushed them to the district headquarters hospital.  While undergoing treatment, one of the injured succumbed. Till the time of the filing of this report, the identity of the second deceased was not confirmed. 

Police have started an investigation into the matter.
