Two Odia Doctors Missing in Wayanad landslide

Two Odia doctors, Dr Bishnu Prasad Chinara and Dr Swadhin Panda, are missing following a massive landslide in Wayanad, Kerala. The incident occurred near Meppadi on Tuesday, claiming over 100 lives and injuring many others.

People across the country are shocked over the massive landslides that struck the hilly areas near Meppadi in Kerala’s Wayanad district on Tuesday. So far over 100 persons have died while scores of others are injured in the landslides.

Two persons from Odisha are also reportedly missing in the landslide in Wayanad. They have been identified as Dr Bishnu Prasad Chinara and  Dr Swadhin Panda.

As per initial reports, Chinara and his wife Priyadarsini and Panda and his wife Swikruti had gone to Kerala on a trip from Bengaluru together on July 26.

A source said Priyadarsini was rescued after the landslide and is now undergoing treatment. Similarly, Swikruti is also undergoing treatment at a hospital.

However, there is no information regarding the whereabouts of Dr Bishnu Prasad Chinara and Dr Swadhin Panda.

Multiple agencies, including NDRF, are carrying out rescue operations in the hilly areas near Meppadi.
