Two minor siblings drown in Jajpur

In a tragic incident, two minor siblings drowned in a pond in the Mangalpur area of Jajpur district on Saturday. 

As per reports, a 3-year-old boy and his 2-year-old sister were playing near the pond at Kulasahi under Mangalpur block. Accidentally, the children went into the pond and drowned. 

Krushna Chandra Jena, a relative of the deceased said that the mother of the two children was busy cooking while the kids were playing outside the house near the pond. 

“No one had seen when the two got into the pond. They might have slipped into the water and drowned. Sometime later, they were spotted floating and were rushed to the Mangalpur community health centre. The doctors referred them to the district headquarters hospital in Jajpur town. Post-mortem of the bodies was carried out,” Jena said.
