Two minor girls 'drown' to death in Odisha’s Jajpur

Two minor girls allegedly drowned in a pond at Balunga Bandi village under Jajpur Road Police limits on Saturday. The incident sent shockwaves across the area.

As per reports, the two girls aged under five were playing outside their house. Later, they moved away unnoticed and did not return home for several hours. 

Worried, their family members searched for them and finally rescued them from a nearby pond. The two were rushed to Danagadi Community Health Centre (CHC) where doctors declared them dead on arrival. 

The deceased were identified as Gurubari Nayak and Sukumari Munda.

Meanwhile, police visited the hospital as part of the investigation, sources said.

No reactions were received from the bereaved families and police.
