Two boats with 14 fishermen stranded in Odisha sea near Paradip
As many as two boats with 14 fishermen got stranded at Mahanadi Muhana in Paradip on Thursday.
As per reports, a boat got stranded at some distance near the sea shore after developing technical glitches. Subsequently, another boat went into the sea to rescue it. However, the second boat also got stranded due to the rough condition of the sea while trying to rescue the first boat with ropes.
Till the last report came in, effort were on to rescue both the boats. Two more boats were also sent to rescue the two stranded boats. However, torrential rain and the rough condition of the sea were making it difficult to rescue the boats and bring them to Paradip port.
As per sources, hundreds of other boats including 40-50 boats from Andhra Pradesh are also struggling to reach the shore due to the rough condition of the sea.
The fishermen had allegedly entered the sea despite a ban imposed by the administration owing to the low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal.
