Truck-bolero collision claims 2 lives, leaves 2 others critical in Bolangir

Two persons were crushed to death on the spot while two others left battling for their lives in a tragic road mishap near Fuguda Square on Bangomunda-Bhalumunda road in Bolangir district on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Kishore Das and Lingaraj Saraf. The injured were rushed to a hospital where their condition was stated to be critical, reports said.

According to sources, the incident occurred while the four persons were on their way to Sinapali from Gaisilat in a Bolero. On the other hand, the speeding truck was coming from Raipur and on its way to Bangomunda.

The two vehicles collided head-on near Fuguda Square leading to the death of two persons on the spot. The intensity of the collision was so severe that both the vehicles were badly mangled.

Passers-by alerted the local police and fire brigade personnel who rescued the injured and admitted them to the local hospital. Meanwhile, the truck driver fled the spot after the mishap.

Police registered a case in this connection and have launched a manhunt to nab the absconding truck driver.
