CM Mohan Majhi in the review meeting
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday urged for expedited efforts in Boudh's development during a district-level review meeting at the District Collector's office. A train on Khordha-Balangir railway line will run from Nayagarh through Boudh, official sources informed.
According to the official sources, the CM conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing projects in Boudh, marking several pivotal announcements for the district's future.
Among the other initiatives highlighted were the forthcoming completion of a new 300-bed hospital and a modern bus terminal, both of which signal significant upgrades in the local infrastructure and healthcare services.
A primary focus was the slow progress of the mega drinking water project, where the Chief Minister called for immediate attention to overcome delays. Plans to improve the education and healthcare sectors in the district were also underlined.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these measures would soon come to fruition, benefiting the district's residents.
At the Collector's office, the CM laid the foundation stone for a major road project, which is to come with an investment of Rs 28 crore. The discussions also covered developmental issues pertaining to rural development, transportation, women empowerment, irrigation, agriculture, and industries, with critical inputs from the Collector and other senior officials.
“Some industrialists are keen to set up their units in the district. Boudh can be a prominent tourist hub and an island (Marjakuda) on Mahanadi River can be developed into a tourist destination to strengthen the district’s economy,” the CM said in a presser.
The Chief Minister's visit included his participation in a patriotic tri-colour rally through the city streets, reinforcing a sense of national unity and pride among the locals.
Key political figures, including Kandhamal MP Sukanta Kumar Panigrahi and two MLAs Saroj Kumar Pradhan and Kanhai Charan Danga, participated in discussions.
