Tragic love story: Bhubaneswar youth hangs self with dupatta after break-up

In a heart-wrenching incident, a youth allegedly hanged himself to death over a suspected love affair in Bhubaneswar’s Bharatpur area. While the exact reason for his death is yet to be ascertained, police suspect him to have ended his life after a tiff with his ‘girlfriend’.

The incident unfolded in the Bharatpur locality, where the 22-year-old was discovered hanging while having also sustained wrist injuries. Police suspect he even tried to die by suicide by slitting his wrist, before hanging himself.

Suspected Motive Behind the Incident

As per reports, the deceased, originally from the Rayagada district, had been residing in Bhubaneswar for educational purposes.

Authorities suspect the death may be linked to issues arising from a romantic relationship. The young man was discovered hanging with a dupatta, a traditional Indian stole.

Ongoing Investigation

Bharatpur Police Station officials have taken charge of the investigation. The police are examining the circumstances to confirm whether the motive behind this sad demise was indeed connected to a love affair.
