There is no respite for apartment dwellers in Bhubaneswar amid growing cases of loot and burglaries. Miscreants again targeted an apartment in Bhubaneswar last night after a brief hiatus. 

Three flats in an apartment at Bhimpur under Pahal Police Limits were reportedly burgled on Tuesday night in which valuables worth Rs 30 lakh were allegedly stolen.

As per reports, looters managed to enter Kalyani Whites Apartment at Bhimpur and broke into three flats. The occupants of the concerned flats were reportedly out of station.

They decamped with six gold rings, 10 gold chains, eight lockets, and cash worth Rs 15,000 from one of the flats. Altogether, valuables amounting to over Rs 30 lakh were stolen from three flats. 

Following a complaint from flat owners, police have started an investigation into the incident and gathered information from flat owners about the stolen items. CCTVs have captured images of the miscreants entering the flats. Their footage is being checked, sources said.

It may be noted here that on the night of December 11, 2023, a robber gang went on a looting spree and burgled five flats of an apartment in the Gadakana area despite the presence of security guards. The robbers looted valuables worth lakhs of rupees. The CCTV installed in the apartment captured the visuals of the robbers.

On October 16, 2023, robbers burgled four flats at Rajvatika Apartment in the city, despite the presence of a security guard. Miscreants looted the gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs 1 crore after breaking the grille and locks of the concerned flats.
