In a tragic road mishap, three persons were killed after the bike they were on had a head-on collision with a car at Subalaya Square under Dasapalla Police limits of Nayagarh district on Saturday. 

Till the time of filing of this report, the identities of the deceased had not been ascertained. 

According to sources, the bikers were heading towards Daspalla from Nayagarh while the car with five occupants including the driver was moving from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh towards Puri. As the bikers were nearing Subalaya Square, the rider reportedly failed to control the bike and dashed against the car. The trio died on the spot.

On being informed, a team from Dasapalla Police Station and Fire Department personnel reached the spot. The police seized the bodies and sent them to Daspalla Community Health Centre (CHC) for post-mortem. 

The cops detained the car driver and launched a probe to ascertain the circumstances that led to such a tragic mishap.
