Theft at police official's quarters in Bhubaneswar! Miscreants loot gold, cash
Throwing an open challenge, unidentified miscreants allegedly looted gold jewellery and other valuables from a police sub inspector’s house in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
As per reports, police sub-inspector Ramakanta Pradhan has been away on training. In his quarter, which is located in a posh locality where Chief Minister Mohan Majhi resides, his son Rakesh Kumar Pradhan, his daughter-in-law and younger son Ranjit Pradhan are living.
Today, Rakesh, his wife and younger brother went out to their respective offices at 11 AM. On their return at 5.30 PM, they found the lock broken, the almirah pried open and gold jewellery, cash, a costly watch and four hard discs missing.
“My brother first informed me about the incident. Upon reaching the spot, I found five to six locks broken. Besides cash amounting to about Rs 12,000, they decamped with gold ornaments including rings, chains and my sister-in-law’s mangalsutra,” informed Ranjit.
On being informed, a team from Kharvelanagar Police Station reached the spot and launched a probe.
