Tension erupts at jatra stage in Angul after Nisha Moharana’s performance

Tension erupted during the jatra show at Barapadia area under Kishorenagar block in Angul district on Tuesday night following the performance of jatra artiste Nisha Moharana.

As per reports, Odisha Samrat opera party was having a camp in the area. The organisers had promised the audience to present a show of Nisha during the jatra. However, the audience was miffed as Nisha appeared only for 10 minutes on the stage. 

There was a heated exchange between the organisers and some audience after Nisha’s show. Following the incident, some people threw chairs on the stage. The jatra show was stopped for nearly an hour due to the incident.

Later, the show resumed after the organisers pacified the miffed audience.

As per the organisers, Nisha could perform on the stage only for 10 minutes as she was ill. However, the audience was expecting Nisha to remain on the stage for more time. They didn’t accept the situation and threw chairs on the stage.
