Tension ran high at Maharishi College of Natural Law in Bhubaneswar after three students were allegedly attacked by some non-students on Monday afternoon.

According to sources, a group of outsiders barged into the college campus and attacked the students leaving them injured.

“A group of 10-15 non-students wielding iron rods and sticks entered the campus and suddenly started beating us. They even tried to drag us out of the campus. I sustained injuries on my head and face in the attack,” said a victim.

“We had lodged a complaint with the principal after a student from another college was found passing time on our campus. This might be the reason behind the attack, but I am not sure,” he added.

Raising concern over their security, another student said, “Our students were attacked over a trivial matter. I feel unsafe as college authorities are not taking any action against the troublemakers.”

On being informed about the incident, Sahid Nagar police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
