Tension at Bhadrak hospital after group clash, five police platoons deployed

A man was seriously injured in a group clash over land dispute on Bhadrak Hospital premises on Wednesday night.

The injured has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

As per reports, tension rah high on Bhadrak Hospital premises following the group clash. Some miscreants had earlier threatened the owner of a hotel. They had even hatched a plan to murder him.

As per their plan, they attacked the hotel owner Subhakanta Pati at around midnight. As a result, a group clash erupted between the miscreants and the supporters of Pati. In the process, a person was injured and admitted to hospital.

Things went out of control after the injured person was admitted to the hospital. Both the groups again entered into a violent clash on the hospital premises. 

Upon being informed, Bhadrak police rushed to the spot resorted to mild lathi charge to control the situation. As many as five platoons of police forces have been deployed on the hospital premises.

“The group clash erupted due to the controversy over a piece of land I have purchased at Charampa. I had lodged a complaint in this regard at Bhadrak Town police station. However, no action was taken in this regard and as a result, the situation went to this extent. They had also attacked us earlier,” said hotel owner Subhakanta Pati.

“As many as five platoons of police forces have been deployed on the hospital premises to keep the situation under control. We have also taken the help of nearby police stations to maintain peace in the area,” said Bhadrak City DSP Anshuman Dwivedi.
