Talcher Mines Dy Director in Vigilance net, properties worth crores detected

Intensifying its raids across the state on corrupt officials, the State Vigilance sleuths on Monday conducted simultaneous raids at several places linked to Talcher Mines deputy director Dharanidhar Nayak. On the charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known source of income, the anti-corruption body raided eight different locations linked to Nayak at Keonjhar, Talcher, and Telkoi. 

As per the latest reports, the raid team has uncovered a total of five houses including two flats, 3 market buildings in Telkoi, a duplex in Jatani, and plots in Angul, Talcher, Telkoi, Cuttack, and Jatni.

This apart, he also has a fixed deposit of Rs 16 lakh and Rs 10 lakh in savings account. A huge amount of gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees has also been recovered from his house.

The raid is being conducted by 10 DSPs, 16 Inspectors, 7 SI/ASIs, and other supporting staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul at the following eight places in Bhubaneswar, and Keonjhar and Angul districts. 

The raids are currently underway at:

1. Flat No. 205, 2nd floor of Surekha Orchid Sisuvihar, Patia Bhubaneswar.

2.  One double-storeyed market complex consisting of 15 shops (9 shops on the ground floor and 6 shops on the 1st floor) of the building located at Badinali Sinkulabahal, Jagmohanpur Telkoi, Keonjhar. 

3. One double-storeyed building under construction adjacent to the market complex at Badinali Sinkulabahal, Jagmohanpur, Telkoi, Keonjhar.

 4. One single-storeyed building at Badinali Sinkulabahal, Jagmohanpur Telkoi, Keonjhar.

 5. Paternal house of Sri Nayak at village Chhamunda, Via-Telkoi PS-Telkoi, Dist-Keonjhar. 

6. His temporary residence at Talcher, Dist-Angul. 

7. Office room of Sri Nayak at O/o-Dy Director Mining, Talcher, Dist-Angul.

 8. His relative's house at village Purumunda, Ghatagaon, Dist-Keonjhar.
