Bhubaneswar Accident
A late-night collision near Nalco Square in Bhubaneswar involving an SUV registered to Baripada MLA Prakash Soren has sparked controversy, following claims that liquor and cannabis were found in the vehicle.
The incident occurred when a black Scorpio SUV allegedly rammed into the rear of a stationary Innova MUV. According to police sources, four individuals sustained injuries in the accident.
The SUV was reportedly carrying the MLA’s son, a driver, and another passenger. The Innova had only the driver inside at the time of impact.
All the injured were immediately taken to Kalinga Hospital for treatment. The MLA’s son reportedly suffered facial injuries while the driver sustained injuries to his leg. The crash caused a traffic snarl in the area, lasting nearly an hour.
Eyewitnesses at the scene claimed the SUV lost control before the collision. The situation took a controversial turn when some locals alleged that bottles of alcohol and packets of ganja were discovered inside the SUV.
Several individuals reportedly filmed videos of the alleged contraband and shared them with others at the scene.
However, MLA Prakash Soren has firmly denied the allegations, stating, “My son and his friend were in the vehicle, but my son does not drink. The claims about liquor and ganja are completely false.”
Police have seized both vehicles and initiated an investigation. Officials are yet to confirm whether any contraband was recovered from the SUV, as forensic and inventory checks are underway.
