The Higher Education Department on Friday directed the principals of all non-government aided colleges including junior colleges across the State to submit the pending Utilisation Certificates (UC) on infrastructure developmental grants for 2014-15, 2015-16 financial years by July 31 falling which, the salary of the principal of the defaulter college will be withheld.

A decision in this regard was taken during a review meeting of the Higher Education Department held on July 6 and 7.

“The submission of UCs must be linked to the grants given to the non-government colleges. The colleges who are defaulters in submitting UCs will not be given any grants. A few colleges intimated that the funds released earlier are yet to be utilized. They were instructed to refund the amount along with interest on priority and report compliance by 31st July 2023,” a notice issued by the department read.

The colleges have been directed to submit the UCs in the CAM portal by July 31st.

“After the due date, the salary of the Principal of the defaulter college will be withheld,” the notice mentioned.
