SUBHADRA Yojana eligibility criteria update: 5 points to know before submitting form

The BJP government's flagship scheme, SUBHADRA Yojana, aimed at empowering women in Odisha, has opened its application process. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida launched a dedicated portal for the scheme on Monday. The collection of application forms will start from September 4. Recent updates to the eligibility criteria include provisions for all eligible women members of a family to receive assistance.

The application process for BJP government’s flagship scheme SUBHADRA Yojana, aimed at empowering women of the State, has begun. While Odisha deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida launched a dedicated portal of the scheme on Monday, the collection of the application forms will commence from September 4. 

Recently, the Odisha government made some changes in the eligibility criteria of the SUBHADRA Yojana. So, before submitting the application form, below are the updates related to the eligibility criteria for SUBHADRA Yojana.

SUBHADRA Yojana Eligibility Criteria Latest Update

Eliminating confusion over the selection of beneficiaries, the Odisha government in its latest guideline informed that all the eligible women members of a family will receive money under the SUBHADRA Yojana. 

If there are three to four eligible women in a family, all of them will receive the assistance under the SUBHADRA Yojana. Even widows receiving allowance and girls receiving scholarships will also get the assistance, Deputy CM Parida recently clarified.

Besides, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, community resource persons and all women employed through outsourcing agencies can also apply for the scheme. 

Updated Eligibility Criteria For SUBHADRA Yojana

1. The applicant must be a resident of Odisha.

2. The applicant should be covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) / State Food Security Scheme (SFSS). Any woman from a family without an NFSA or SFSS Card can apply under SUBHADRA if her family income is not more than Rs. 2.50 lakh.

3. To be eligible under the scheme, the applicant’s age should be 21 years or more and less than 60 years as on the qualifying date. The date of birth, as recorded in the Aadhaar card would be taken as the final date for the calculation of her age.

4. For financial year 2024-25, the woman must be 21 years or more and less than 60 years, as on 01.07.2024. Therefore, the applicant must be born on 02.07.1964 or later and born on 01.07.2003 or earlier. The date of birth, as recorded in the Aadhaar card would be taken as the final date for the calculation of her age.

5. For 2024-25, if a woman attains the age of 21 years after 01.07.2024, she will get Rs.10,000 per year, only for the remaining years of the scheme period. In 2024-25, women who complete 60 years of age after 01.07.2024, will not receive the benefits for the remaining years of the scheme period.
