Subhadra Yojana: Around 4 lakh miss out on third installment, says Dy CM Parida in Odisha Assembly

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Pravati Parida informed the Assembly on Saturday that nearly 3,99,352 lakh beneficiaries were left out from receiving the third installment of the Subhadra Yojana.

Responding to a query raised by MLA Ganeshwar Behera, Parida explained that while the scheme’s first installment had successfully covered 1,20,80,092 beneficiaries, the second installment reached only 1,96,307 individuals, leaving 1,83,785 applicants excluded.

The third installment, which was expected to provide wider coverage, has so far benefited 96,96,955 people, with around 3,99,352 eligible beneficiaries missing out.

The Deputy CM assured the House that steps are being reviewed to ensure more comprehensive coverage under future installments of the scheme.

Overall, the Subhadra Yojana has received applications from 1,09,87,894 individuals. The Minister assured that steps are being taken to address the gaps and ensure that the remaining eligible beneficiaries receive the funds promptly.

Under the Subhadra Yojana, every beneficiary receives Rs 10,000 annually in two equal installments of Rs 5,000 each. The payments are directly credited to women’s bank accounts on Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day, ensuring both transparency and timely support.
