SUBHADRA Yojana: Ahead of PM Modi's mega event, 10,000 padayatras organised across Odisha
Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida on Sunday led a massive ‘Subhadra Swagat Padayatra’ from Unit-III Giridurga Temple to Ramadevi University Square in Bhubaneswar. Thousands of women marched along with the Deputy CM in the Padayatra undertaken in the capital city ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s official launch of the Subhadra Yojana on September 17.
Deputy CM KV Singh Deo, Bhubaneswar Aparajita Sarangi, and other BJP leaders attended the programme in Bhubaneswar.
The Subhadra Swagat Padayatra will be conducted in all revenue villages in the state to spread awareness about the BJP government’s ambitious scheme. The Padayatra will continue for one week and aims to reach all the blocks, panchayats, and villages.
Anganwadi workers, supervisors, SHG members, and Asha workers will lead the Padayatras to spread awareness at the grassroots level. The BJP government is leaving no stone unturned to make the scheme a massive success and aims to promote it through drawing, talent shows, quiz, debate, and dance competitions in villages.
Winning contestants will be given the title of 'Subhadra Apa' and their stories will be published as 'Mo Subhadra Story'.
As per reports, at least 60L women have already registered under the Subhadra Yojana and will get their first installment on September 17.
Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida said, “Around 10,000 padayatras are being conducted across the state today. We have all come together to strengthen the women of our society. The aim of Subhadra Yojana is to make every woman in our state self-independent and self-reliant.”
On the other hand, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi launched a scathing attack on Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government and said, “They started the Mission Shakti on March 8, 2001. In the last 24-25 years, if they had done their work properly through Mission Shakti, then there would have been no need for Subhadra Yojana. But, our BJP government is not like BJD. We always keep our promise.”
“As promised in our poll manifesto, we have launched Subhadra Yojana and as a Bhubaneswar lawmaker, I’m extremely happy. Already 60L women have registered and around 25L women will get Rs 5,000 each through DBT by PM Modi on September 17,” she added.
