Close to 1 crore eligible women in Odisha will receive the second instalment of Rs 5,000 under the Subhadra Yojana on March 8, 2025, coinciding with International Women’s Day. The numbers come amid recent statements made by Deputy CM Pravati Parida saying that the scheme reached 98 lakh women in seven months and was close to recording 1 crore registrations.

Meanwhile, the Odisha government will disburse the second instalment funds via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. Again, as stated by the Deputy CM, beneficiaries must have completed registration by the March 31, 2025 deadline, while adding that those previously rejected can appeal through Subhadra Committees.

Eligibility Criteria for Subhadra Yojana:

To qualify for Subhadra Yojana, applicants must be residents of Odisha, aged between 21 and 60 years, with a family income less than or equal to Rs 2.5 lakh annually.

Additionally, they should be covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA). However, government employees, income taxpayers, and families with more than five acres of irrigated or 10 acres of non-irrigated land are excluded.

Subhadra Yojana and Its Future Plans:
