Students fall sick after midday meal in Bolangir school; lizard in food suspected

In a disturbing incident, several students of a government school in Muribahal block’s Tentulikhunti village in Bolangir district reportedly fell ill after consuming the midday meal on Saturday.

According to sources, a number of students began feeling unwell shortly after eating the food served at school. Complaints of nausea and stomach discomfort were reported by the affected children, raising concerns over the quality of the food provided.

The students alleged that the midday meal was stale and possibly contaminated, leading to their sickness. Some even alleged that a lizard fell into the meal.

Local villagers and parents expressed alarm over the situation and demanded an immediate investigation into the quality and hygiene standards of the meal preparation process.

At the time of reporting, no official statement has been released by the school authorities regarding the incident. Health officials are expected to visit the school and assess the situation.
