All 14 MLAs of the party, led by CLP leader Rama Chandra Kadam met Governor Raghubar Das and sought his intervention. Submitting a memorandum, they demanded the admission process be stopped until the reservations were implemented.

They requested the Governor to direct the OJEE Committee to immediately stop the admission process. The memorandum stated that the BJP government has only implemented 10% of seats for EWS students, it has remained silent on providing OBC students their due share, although OBCs comprise 54% of the state population.

While the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act of 2006 mandates 22.5% reservation for STs, 16.25% for SCs, and 11.25% for OBC in higher education, the OBCs are not given reservation at all in MBBS and Engineering, the party alleged.

They urged the Governor to take appropriate steps to address the injustice of OBC admissions and ensure equal educational and employment opportunities for all sections of society.
