The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch on Sunday confiscated drug peddler Siba Prasad Das's properties worth Rs Rs 74.75 lakh. 

According to the information, Siba, a resident of Khordha’s Jatani area, was arrested in the year 2022 by the STF. The cops seized three kilograms of brown sugar, three pistols, seven magazines and Rs 65.32 lakh in cash from his possession. 

Following his arrest, the STF had moved the office of Competent Authority, Kolkata seeking its permission to forfeit Siba's seized cash and bank deposits. Today, the properties of Siba were confiscated.  

Informing about the development, STF SP KK Panigrahi said, " Acting on a tip-off, we had conducted a raid and arrested Siba Prasad Das on January 25, 2022. A resident of Mundia Sahi under Jatni police limits in Khurdha was residing in a rented house in Nayagarh. During the raid, the STF had seized three kilograms and 100 grams of brown sugar, three sophisticated pistols, seven magazines, 23 rounds of bullets and Rs 65.32 lakh in cash from his possession. Besides, we had also frozen his two bank accounts. We had given a proposal to the office of Competent Authority, Kolkata for confiscation of his properties."
