Ahead of the Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa’s (Srimandir Heritage Corridor project) inauguration ceremony on January 17, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday released a video message wherein he appealed to people to light lamps, blow conches, beat gongs, sing devotional songs and chant Lord Jagannath’s name.

“Without Lord Jagannath’s wish, even a leaf doesn’t shake. With His wishes, the prakalpa is going to be inaugurated on January 17. It is our luck that we are going to be a witness of this prakalpa,” he said.

“The aim of the prakalpa is to ensure devotees get a chance to go around the Srimandir with peace. The inauguration of the prakalpa is a festive day for the entire Odisha. I would like to request all to observe the day by surrendering yourself to the Lord,” he said.

“On the prakalpa inauguration day, we will light lamps, blow conches, beat gongs, sing bhajans (devotional songs), and chant his name. The moment of the prakalpa’s inauguration is a moment of pride for the Odia people,” he added.

In his video message, he also thanked the persons who have donated their lands for the prakalpa, servitors, construction workers and artisans.
