Approving the high-level Committee’s recommendation for the opening of Puri Srimandir Ratna Bhandar on July 14, the Puri Srimandir managing committee on Wednesday gave a proposal in this regard to the Odisha government.

Chief Administrator Of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Vir Vikram Yadav said that the Managing Committee meeting was held today and all members expressed concerns over yesterday’s mishap during the Adap Mandap bije pahandi.

“A high-level Committee has proposed a standard operating procedure (SOP) for Ratna Bhandar opening and it will be sent to the Odisha government. As per the decision today, the Ratna Bhandar should be opened on July 14 and discussions were held on this agenda. We will proceed accordingly as per the instructions given by the Odisha government,” said Yadav adding that the modalities have been finalised and will be sent today.

Earlier on Tuesday, the second meeting of the high-level committee reconstituted by the Odisha government to supervise the inventorisation of valuables including jewellery stored in the Puri Srimandir’s Ratna Bhandar was held.

After the meeting, Justice Biswanath Rath, who is the chairman of the high-level committee, informed that the State government will be given a proposal for the reopening of the Ratna Bhandar on July 14. The committee further informed that consensus was formed that even if the key is available or not or whether it functions or not, Ratna Bhandar will be reopened.
