Special ‘Maha Kumbh’ flight from Bhubaneswar to facilitate pilgrims
Bhubaneswar now has a direct flight service to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh (UP) designed especially for attendees of the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) authorities said on Monday.
The information about this new service was disclosed by the Bhubaneswar airport Director.

According to the official sources, operated by Alliance Air, this 72-seater special flight will run every Wednesday, supplementing the existing four-weekly flight services between the two cities. This additional and special flight will continue until the festival concludes, providing pilgrims with convenient air travel options.
“We already had four direct flights to Prayagraj in a week. Now, the special ATR 72-seater flight service will continue till the conclusion of the event,” BPIA Director Prasanna Pradhan said to OTV.

Worth mentioning, to meet the rising demand from devotees eager to take holy dips during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj this year, the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has expanded its bus services.
Similarly, East Coast Railway (ECoR) announced on January 13 the deployment of seven special trains to accommodate pilgrims travelling to the Mela and the initiative aimed to provide seamless connectivity from different parts of Odisha to the sacred event.
