Sex racket in Cuttack: Couple arrested
The Commisionerate Police on Sunday arrested a married couple in Odisha’s Cuttack in connection with the sex trafficking case of a minor girl from Bangladesh.
Officers from Madhupatna Police Station detained the couple following the rescue of the minor who was forced into sex work in a massage parlour. Subsequently, the duo was forwarded to court.
The arrested couple was interrogated by the police in Cuttack following which they admitted to the crime. As per their reveals, the minor was forced into prostitution by the couple to generate income.

Further inquiries revealed that the couple conducted these activities from a rented house, prompting authorities to investigate the potential complicity of the property owner. Questioning was in progress to determine the same.
Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) informed that the cops are exploring possible links to other individuals within the network. “We have recorded the statement of the victim. Since she is a minor, her statement is strong evidence, and based on it, the couple was forwarded to court,” the DCP stated in his address to the media.
Meanwhile, in Bhubaneswar, police are particularly concerned about the circulation of photographs depicting Bangladeshi women, distributed by agents, which suggests further illicit occurrences at other sites.

Unscrupulous agents are reportedly still luring people by using photographs of women employed in sex rackets. Following this, the DCP in Bhubaneswar has directed a comprehensive search to locate and investigate these areas.
