 A new political equation seems to be emerging in Odisha after several leaders from the state including former Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang, his son Shishir Gamang and others are likely to join the newly-formed national party- Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), headed by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).

Both Giridhar Gamang and his son Shishir had quit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. The father and son duo had informed to have taken the decision to quit BJP after they were allegedly sidelined within the party.

Earlier on January 13, both Giridhar Gamang and his son had called on Telangana CM KCR sparking speculations in Odisha.

As per reports, several leaders from Odisha have left for Hyderabad. A lot of members and activists of the farmers’ outfit, the Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan have also left for Hyderabad in a special bus. It is learnt that some leaders will be travelling to Hyderabad in a special charted flight and join the BRS in presence of KCR on January 27 (tomorrow).

Several tribal leaders from Koraput including Jayaram Pangi, several ex-MLAs, MPs, RTI activists are likely to join BRS. Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee former secretary, Kailash Mukhi had also joined the BRS earlier.
