6 labourers dead, 7 critical after tipper overturns in Odisha's Malkangiri

At least six labourers reportedly lost their lives after a tipper truck carrying them overturned on Hantalaguda ghat in Malkangiri’s Swabhiman area on Saturday.

As per reports, the cement-laden tipper carrying over 12 labourers was on its way to Jodamba from Chitrakonda when the mishap occurred. In the mishap, six labourers were killed and over seven injured. The injured ones were rescued and rushed to a nearby government hospital. 

Meanwhile, the Odisha government announced Rs 3 lakh ex gratia for family members of each deceased and free treatment for the injured.
