Senior BJD leaders, including Pradeep Majhi, Abinash Samal, Mahidhar Rana, and Mangala Kisan, have highlighted reasons for their party's defeat in the General Elections 2024. At a meeting at Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, Kisan attributed the poor performance in tribal districts to leadership misunderstandings.

One after another, BJD leaders have been opening their hearts about the reasons for their party's failure in the General Elections 2024. After Pradeep Majhi, Abinash Samal and Mahidhar Rana, senior BJD leader Mangala Kisan pointed out some more reasons that caused the party’s drubbing in the elections at a meeting of the party’s scheduled tribe cell at Sankha Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

Kisan ascribed the party’s poor performance in tribal-dominated districts to misunderstandings between the party leaders.

“In tribal constituencies, we failed due to misunderstandings between our leaders. This apart, in many districts, we are weak when it comes to organizational strength. Those who are in charge of party organisation are creating 30 to 40 new leaders in every constituency. This is also another reason that proved to be the last straw,” said Kisan.

Meanwhile, some leaders have started opposing the leaders who are washing the dirty linen in public, suggesting such leaders shouldn’t have any place in the party.

BJD MLA Pradeep Dishari termed the leaders' criticism of the party as unfortunate. He said the leaders should instead analyse why the party failed and take steps to strengthen the party.

“After losing the election, if they are criticizing the party, it is unfortunate. Rather, we should analyse why we failed. After failure, we should not get demoralized. They who are criticizing the party may have a different kind of thinking. So, they should no longer stay in the party,” said Dishari.
