Ahead of the launch of the second Vande Bharat Express between Rourkela-Puri, the trial run from Puri to Talcher was conducted on Monday.

The train which left Puri station at 9:30 am reached Talcher Road after halting at several stations including- Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Dhenkanal for two minutes each. This will be the second Vande Bharat Express covering several Odisha districts.

It is said that the regular train operation of the second Vande Bharat Express is likely to start from this month end between Puri and Rourkela.

The first Vande Bharat Express is currently operating between Puri and Howrah. The services were inaugurated in the month of May this year.

“This will benefit the passengers as the speed is much more than a normal train. There are good facilities in the train which is certainly in the interest of the passengers,” said a passenger from Puri.

Another passenger said, "The train will certainly come to the rescue of the passengers as it will connect Puri, the land of the Lord Jagannath. A lot of devotees can avail better communication facilities to come to Puri."
