With a few hours left for New Year 2024, tourists and picnickers from various parts of Odisha and outside have started thronging Daringbadi in Kandhamal district in large numbers for zero-night celebrations amidst natural settings. Many of them are now on a sightseeing spree in the wild and unspoiled environment.
Several tourist sites in Daringbadi area, known as ‘the Kashmir of Odisha, are buzzing with activities, and the tourists are looking forward to welcome the New Year in style.
Bestowed with natural bounty, Daringbadi is one of the major tourist destinations in the state. The scenic place is rich with coffee gardens, pine forests, and beautiful valleys and waterfalls.
The main places to visit here are the beautiful Doluri river, Putudi waterfall, turmeric garden, and black pepper. Some tourists are seen setting out on adventurous trekking to the nearby hills to enjoy the serene environment.
Now, all tourist sites and hotels are heavily crowded with tourists, picnickers, and party revelers. Hill View Park in Daringbadi is another place of attraction here.
Jyotsnarani Barik, a tourist, said, “I came with my family and spent a lot of time visiting various sites. I feel refreshed and relaxed here. Today is the last day and the New Year will begin at 12 pm.”
